2010 Week 16 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups
December 25, 2010 by TJ
Week 16 is here and for most leagues this is championship week. Or you could be in a consolation bracket simply trying to salvage some pride and finish as best as you can. Either way, you might need some waiver wire help. Let’s take a look at a few players who could help bolster your roster. These players should be available in roughly 50% or more fantasy leagues. Here are our top 3 (or so) free agent quarterback, running back and wide receiver pickups for the week:
Quarterback
- Tim Tebow (Den) – He accounted for 2 TDs last week, although he didn’t have much stats in passing yards. He has the nod to finish out the season as the starting QB and this week they may loosen the leash just a bit. If you are really unsure about your matchup, and can be OK with a similar performance from Tebow as last week. Give him the nod, scary proposition though in your championship game.
- Jon Kitna (Dal) – Kitna gets Arizona, so he should be in line for one of his better games this year..
- David Garrard (Jax) – Garrard gets a bad Washington team this week, but they are really worse against the run. However, that might play into Garrard’s style where he can take it to the box himself on a scramble.
Running Back
- Tashard Choice (Dal) – here could be a lot of healthy backs available to play the game, but Choice has a lot to prove for next season and he should make every touch count.
- Michael Bush (Oak) – He faces a soft Indy defense and seems to be getting goal line carries. If you need a spot to replace he probably could be counted on some cheap points.
- Ricky Williams (Mia) – A lot of teams have given up on Williams, but this week he could turn in a good performance against Detroit.
Wideout/Tight End
- Roy Williams (Dal) – Facing a weak Arizona secondary, Williams could be in line for a big play or two.
- Brandon Tate (NE) – This is a bit of a reach, but with the way Brady is spreading the ball, Tate could easily turn in a big game against Buffalo this week.
- Robert Meacham (NO) – If you desperate for a decent shot at a cheap TD, Meacham is available for many and with Brees at the helm has as good a shot as any to deliver.
